maximo101
Hello fellow watch fanatics, I just stumbled across a bauhaus style Universal Geneve Vanguard with black dial and a 1200 caliber. What do you think of the brand in terms of reputation? Would you consider Universal Geneve a luxury watch brand and on which level would you rate the brand? Comparable to vintage Omegas or vintage THs? I read somewhere that these watches are vintage collector's wet dream but I have never seen or heard of the brand before. Thank you in advance for your thoughts. M
maximo101
Anyway, done extensive research on the brand, bought the watch and look forward having the Vanguard in hand soon.
lhooq
I have long been interested in finding a good Polerouter and, much more expensively, a "Nina Rindt" Compax. I wouldn't call UG high luxury, but it is good a brand with a long history for pioneering designs e.g. said Compax layout, microrotor movements, and bombé lugs on sports watches. maximo101
Pick up the UG from customs on Friday. Very nice watch and feels amazing with a newly added brown leather strap. I figured out that the Omega Geneve 266 movement looks very much the same as the UG 1200 movement, both manual winders. Does anyone know the difference? Both movements are from the 1950s and look very close if not the same.
