Is the Submariner Bezel meant to be polished?

I just had a new BKLM black sub through and it looks brilliant, however having never seen a gen, I don't know whether my bezel is meant to be polished or not?

 

I only ask as when it's under artificial light or it's cloudy outside, the bezel looks a different colour (often gunmetal) and far from black, infact its so polished i can see my face in it. Is this a gen thing too?

You can get  many effects under some differents lighting condition with a ceramic bezel...Do you have some pics ?

You can see from the outside photos it looks gun metal not black, but i think thats because its a polished finish?
