MatBat Posted December 28, 2020 Report Posted December 28, 2020 Hello everyone, I got a 1601 dial in bad shape for few bucks, only 10$. I'm still waiting to be shipped since USPS has some problem in this period. So, my idea is to build a 1061 on budget, having the best result spending not too much. Since I love the idea of having a "worn" Datejust, I'm planning to age the hands and ruin a bit the case. The main problem is the case, where I can find one? My budget is 50-60$ for the case, so I was thinking of using the Raffles case for 2836, replace the crystal with the 25-135 acrylic, drill the holes and try to reshape the bezel (the bezel from Raffles is too tall). Do you have other solutions? Is a good idea? I've already made a 16200 franken using a Raffles case for 2836 and a gen dial, I have all necessary tools for this type of project. Thanks!

I hope someone can give me this answer.
