Even though I know which is which, I get caught out every couple of months where I have to stop and think (or at least try and remember). I have an IWC 3717, and it isn't that they look identical. In fact the rep looks better because it has nicer 'chief' AR, so when I pick both up my first line of thinking is I think the gen is the one that looks worse. Then I have to mess around with the bracelet, that's stiffer on the gen. And setting the time is a completely different story on the gen (even though the rep is an ETA, it's not had the same servicing). I often think I'm in the market for a classic dress watch.......and then instead a few weeks later I'm sitting wearing a newly acquired Ploprof or equivalent. It's a problem.
