morgan123 Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 After my recent disaster with Autosol, taking the finish off my Tag Chrono, completely (I'm still trying to correct that actually, I just ordered Satin Finish Bars from Ofrei to give it the final touch after bringing the brushed effect somewhat back with with steel wool), I'm wondering now how best to get that satin finish to sparkle without damaging the finish... By-Tor mentioned using car wax in his Noobmarier review. Is car wax the best option?

Is car wax the best option? i think your on the right track with the bars.... i use a general polishing cloth from a jewelly store. it keeps any watch case and bracelet looking stock and not too shiny just clean and looking new, the way it is suppose too. and the good thing is.... no creams or liquids, the cloth just picks up the crap and it show on the rag. supermanx Posted February 1, 2007 Report Posted February 1, 2007 Dish Soap and a soft bristle tooth brush will get all the gunk and blackness off... A lLIGHT rub with a cape cod cloth with give it brilliance but still be brushed (like a rolex should be), this is not as much a concern for other brands as current rolex models consist of a higher grade of steel with just a touch brighter sheen to it.
morgan123 Posted February 2, 2007 Author Report Posted February 2, 2007 Bergeon No. 5444 Fine Satin Finish Bar is AMAZING. Wow. Basically after polishing it completely, rubbing it with steel wool (not sure if I needed the wool though) and now finally going over it with the bar is giving it that 'showroom' quality. I'm thrilled!!! ...My girlfriend said this morning "what on earth did you do before watches".
