scottie333 Posted February 6, 2007 Report Share Posted February 6, 2007 Hi all. I am a little frustrated! Yesterday, I received my BR 01-92 from one of our trusted dealers. The watch was unfortunately DOA. It has an Asian ETA 2892-2 and I noticed a tiny loose sliver of metal under the crystal, so therefore I am not surprised. I wound it the correct way (clockwise) and set the time as normal but it is well and truly DEAD! I emailed the dealer who suggested I do what I already had done including vigorously shaking the watch and all would be fine. I did what he said and guess what - it's still DEAD!! Rather than send it back to him, I am going to get a Watchsmith to fit a genuine SWISS ETA 2892-2 in it. Is this an easy job? Should I send it back to the trusted dealer? Thoughts anyone? Scott. chrgod Posted February 6, 2007 Report Share Posted February 6, 2007 I feel sorry for you. This is a nice watch, and quite expensive for a rep. Fitting a genuine 2892-2 would be a nice touch. I am VERY interested in doing the same ( Buying a BR10-92 and put a real 2892 into it ) but I am worried the hands might have a different pin dimentions since this asian version of the 2892 does not look at all like the "good" asian seagull copy that is close to the swiss in design. Alos how thick the dial is. I have 4-5 good 2892-2 and A2 laying around, but all was previously installed on watches with very thin dials and probably need some parts changed to work in this setup.
