steppen
I'm planning to send my seamaster chrono away to get superlumed and was wondering if the genuine has AR coating on the crystal, if so I could get that done aswell? any help regarding this matter would be greatly appreciated, regards steppen Edited February 16, 2007 by steppen
stang
Steppen, I believe the SMP 300M Chrono has anti-reflective coating on one side only (I read this here before, somewhere...). Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. Also, I don't know which side has the AR coating, inside or outside(?). Steppen, please let me know how the Superluminova re-lume work goes since I would be very interested in having this work done on my "Omega" SMP chronograph also. Same goes for the anti-reflective treatment. Also, how much do these services cost? I'm still trying to deal w/ the fact that I don't have tritium illumination anymore. I LOVED the tritium on my 2001 Chase-Durer before they went w/ superluminova. It's hard for anyone to understand how nice tritium is until you have/experience it. I could go to bed at 9:00pm and at 5:30 in the morning it was still glowing as bright as when I first turned out the lights. Thanks, in advance, for letting me know how the relume goes. b16a2
I always believed that the Omega SMP's (all models) didn't have AR. However after reading this I'm not so sure.... http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/smpvssub.html I have never witnessed AR on any SMP before at the AD's. I seem to remember seeing reflections on the crystal, and no evidence of a blue hue like the Planet Ocean
krustybrand
The gen does have a light AR on the inside of the crystal. I have one. It is hard to notice under some conditions. I also have a gen crystal for a black SMP, and it is quite hard to tell that it is indeed coated on the inside.
