My Swiss 212 Crystal Exploded Last Night!

i havn't worn this for 4 months. just sitting on my shelf and broke for no apparent reason! nice $600 rep........

guess the fiddy's not the only one we have to worry about

anyone have a crystal they can sell me?

I will have a spare 212 case with reworked crown guard lever, including the crystal soon - so if you have some time I would be happy to let you have it for a small fee - mine get's a new case with polished pushers, correct crown guard and AR sapphire

it's from EL about a year and a half ago so i think they were all mineral.

IMO, there is not that amount of pressure for a sapphire crystal to break...I guess I will brake while pressing it not 4 months latter. So it must be any other material but sapphire.

Welcome to the club.... Sorry to hear that. Exactly the same catastrophe has happened to my 212 a few months ago. I was a lucky guy and found an entire case kit but it was a buy by chance and unfortunately I can't recommend a source. That chrono is one of my favs but that damn crystal....

wow thats some wierd stuff! all i can say all you 212 owners change the mineral crystal to sapphire !

i once had a spare sub sapphire crystal & decided to see how strong those things are made , & took a hammer to it ! took me 7 strikes to chatter the sapphire ! strong stuff!
