archibald
Ran into an old friend day before yesterday, and after commenting on my conquistador he mentioned he was going to plunk down 45 franklins on a TT yachtmastrer. I told him he was nuts, that he could get 5 replicas so close to the genuine models that nobody outside of a high end watch store could tell they were fake--for less money than the oreowned yachtmaster. He asked me to send him pics of the ones I reccomended.... My list, with needed mods. TT Yachtmaster, latest version OEM crown, aftermarket 18k bezel and 18k/SS bracelet, crown guards milled PAM 005, Correct Back Version New crown, capped hands, strap, dial relume 4th gen Planet Ocean OEM buckle, crown, He valve, hands (if available); AR Muller conquistador, black dial OEM dial if available, Strap AP Jules Audemars, rose gold Strap IIf he wants to spend the whole 4500, figure he can get the watches, straps, mods by The Zigmeister, a nice display box, and have enough left over to take the Missus out for dinner, and present her w/ a nice piece of jewelry, which he'll need to do after he comes home w/ 5 watches... You guys have any other ideas for the watches? Tough life, rep collecting!
Guest Carl
Three Franklins or so will get a decent TT Yachtmaster from the well known dealers on this board. For the rose gold AP (or Longines, Patek, VC or whatever) two Franklins will do. Enjoy your savings.

ehtolcad
only other one i would say as well would be the new patek flipback. or as he would be picking up 5 watches he may want to pickup the patek 24 w/ diamonds (of course) for the little lady. if we're going solely on accuracy, i'd also say the 036 instead of the fiver as it is well known to be the most accurate out of the box. but then again if we're talking panerai (and he's willing to drop the coin) i'd also think of the brand spankin new 187. i'll think of more i'm sure... rbj69
tt r not good enough so i would tell him that , unless u put a real gold braclet on them , that is if he is wanting perfection, just my two cents i would tell him vintage subs or watchmaster new style stainless steel sub in the rolex, or gmtII panerai , i would say 27a or 28a or the 199 regatta or the daylight with 7753swiss is the better choices frank muller with the 2892 eta po is a nice choice as well if rolex they need mods to be almost perfect the rest needs less mods done if he is a good friend i wouldnt put him on a two tone unless recommended a real gold bracelet replacement
