rolexconfuse Posted March 9, 2007 Report Posted March 9, 2007 I recently purchased a 2 tone replacment band for my rep. it's one of those italian made bands, when i first got the band i found that the satin/brush finish was not very satin/brush like, so i took to a local watchmaker and asked if he could give it a more satin/brush finish. I even pointed to one of the watches that he had in his display and said i wanted it to look something like this. I got the band back a few days ago and now it has more of the satin/brush look to it but the satin finish is too shiny and kills the brushed metal look now. Is there anyway for me to fix this without having to break out a dremel and stuff? I just want to tone down a bit of the satin finish so more of the brush metal comes out. thanks
rolexconfuse Posted March 9, 2007 Author Report Posted March 9, 2007 no one knows? okay, how about a brush effect, how do you get a brush effect?

Lyndonville Posted March 10, 2007 Report Posted March 10, 2007 http://cgi.ebay.com/Satin-Brushed-Refinish...oQQcmdZViewItem hope it helps That's sort of a rough pad. You can get finer pads and get better results. In the US you can get them at Home Depot, Lowe's, or any of the finer wood working supply houses. One item you can get at the wood working stores is sand paper that is extremely fine. The grit can go up to 12000 (no kidding!). They are made of fabric with a grit finish on one side. The problem with the higher numbered pads is that you can get a high polish finish, so you need to be careful and start out with the lowest grit. They come in packets of about 12. Those work great. I can give you can example of the micro sand paper and what it can do by going to this site and reading what was done to get from A to Z. www.k4tjp.net/autc.html Tim
