Steve G
Well I've avoided this watch based on all the negative reviews, both by members and movement specialists. I've read all about the issues with the running seconds at six, freeze ups, stoppages, etc. But for some stupid reason I'm still drawn to having one...the meteorite dial no less. So I'd like to hear if any members own any daytonas with a 7750 and actually have some mileage on this movement without suffering any ill effects, thus rendering them with a $300 paperweight. So either sway or persuade me...looking for honest opinions. thanks
freddy333
You can Search for the brief review I did last month of the 116509 from Joshua (I think it is in the Dealer Reviews section). The morning after the review was written, the watch died -- stopped running. Joshua had me send it to his watchmaker in China and it came back a short time later, packaged well and in perfect working order (so far). I have 2 other 116520s and 1 is 2 years old and, other than the 'twitchy' seconds hand (they all seem to have this), no problems at all. But I should also say that I do not wear these watches very often. They were purchased more as jewels to be looked at than to be worn. But I do wind and run them (including the chrono for 5-10 minutes) regularly, at least once every month.
rdorman
I have had one from Josh for about a year now. Beautiful rep, seconds at six model. Serviced by The Zigmeister shortly after purchase. Great watch.
Watchmeister
Seconds at six is a crap shoot. What I elected to do was to be patient and watch offering from other forum members. That way it has passed the passage of time test. I also was able to get it with CG's modded, gen crown and relumed for close to the price of a new one. It still works. But make no mistake - there is a huge element of luck.
chubbchubb
Mine is in the great looking paperweight league..... Unless you can loose 300$ without feeling pain, there's a lot of beautiful reps with much less issues around...
