Recommended Posts

Well I finally tried it. I brushed half of my Navi SS band. It came out alot better than I expected. I have also posted a picture of the material I used to do it in the last photo...I was really suprised it worked!

Let me know what you think before I complete the other half and clasp...

Quick pics...sorry for the quality

I had actually remembered reading a post somewhere about these scotch pads. I was in the drugstore today and happened to notice them on the shelf. I had my Ultimate 45mm PO on that had a few light scratches on the clasp. I took the the pad off the shelf and rubbed it on the scrathces and it restored the brushed finish within a couple of minutes. I was amazed! I ahve been researching for the right material for a few weeks...who would have figured somehting so simple...

I had already started the process on my Navi band with an fingernail emory board and was not hapy with the result. I bought the Scotch pads and tried it when I got home. This was the result of about 20 minutes of work on the band. Just brushed it back and forth keeping the strokes as straight as possible...really was not that difficult with the surface of tthe Scothbrite pad...I was also suprised it worked so well. The photos were actually taken on the pad as a background...

dude that actually looks pretty f**king good!

u mean all u used was that scotch brite pad?

care to tell us about the entire process? thanks!

so all u really need to do is brush the band with the scotch brite pad in straight strokes? do u have to apply a lot of force?

i will need something to hold my band in place if i decide to try it...

greta job tho.pls post pics of the band when ure completely done with it.

I started with light pressure and actually increased it being careful and found that a good amount of pressure worked well. Use a flat pencil eraser to lay the band on and it will stay in place quite well. I will post more pics of the entire band on the watch when complete. I am tempted to try the cas also....but not sure about that yet...

That looks pretty good. The case would probably be the real bugger. Would the polished case look too out of place on the brushed bracelet? Let us klnow if you try it but you will have to dissasemble the watch so as to not scratch the crystal.

i can imagine brushing the case being a real [censored].ud have to remove the crown, the pushers, the crystal...too much work.and the surface is so uneven it would be hard to get those lines straight.also someone on RWI helped point out that the polished case matches with the polished clasp of the leather strap so leaving it as it is wouldnt be so bad.now lets wait for DWSmoot for a pic of the brushed bracelet on the polished case! :cc_jockey:

wow, looks really good. I took the SS band off my Bentley because it was too 'bling' for me, but maybe having it brushed would be less flashy. Then again, i don't know how well it would match with the polished case.
