Purchasing Lume...Is this stuff any good

I have been rather curious about how reluming is done. I looked into this website which sells a number of different glow powders. My first question is: Is this the same stuff or similiar stuff to what is used on the relumes done through members of this site? Ifnot what is used, and where do you get it?

Also, It would be great if somebody would provide a tutorial on how a watch relume is done. With so many members doing it now, it must not be rocket science, but clearly requires a certain talent or skill.

This site actually has a project listed for reluming watchs.

The site is also offering free shipping, and the products are pretty cheap.

All thoughts on this topic are welcome.

I just orders some today and will post something when i get it, may be some time though as i chose surface post to the EU, there was a thread about it being quite good before but if my memory serves me correct the grain was quite large in comparison to the tritec (swiss and very expensive) product, at those prices all you can do is go for it, give it a try, if it is rubbish for watches then lume your car keys and light switches!

I (and others) had extensive experiences on RSG products and posted them on this forum.

Make a search.

Ok, I'll help.

In the end, after trying it, I'm turning back to Superluminova.

would it work for a sandwich dial then?

The spray will work, as long as you will use it in accordance with the suggestions I gave in that thread.

I am still wearing a 203 relumed that way and I am satisfied. But I also had to replace the hands as the increased dial thickness made the small second hand fall off.

The powder may work, but you have to crunch it to a finer grain and this may alter its glow properties.

Superluminova is provided by rcTritec, Swiss.

Elisabeth is a nice lady to deal with.
