Springbar hole drilling...

hey all!

Does anyone know what size drill bit to use to drill the holes on a vintage SD or Sub to fit gen springbars?

I went to all the hadrware stores in my area and the smallest they have is 1/16th (1.59mm), which looks a little big to me... Anyone got the right size?!?!

The 2.0mm springbar ends are 1.2mm; 1.3mm should be used to allow clearance of the ends to extend fully.

know where to get a 1.3mm drill bit? what size is that in standard sizing?

Not sure, but I know Snap-On has a cobalt bit that size, and can be ordered online.

Hobby train stores and jeweler supply houses will probably stock something in that size as well.

Start with a 1mm carbid bit, then move onto a 1.2mm.. When your done use a 1.4 or 1.5mm bit to bevel the edge of the hole.
