Vintaged rep Subs

I saw this thread in tz today. Guy picked up a vintaged sub for comparison purposes for only $23.15 in Malaysia. So is that how much they cost from the factories?

hxxp://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg&goto=2741086&rid=43373#msg_2741086

You will need to cut and paste the url and change xx's to tt's.

Cheers.

The materials in replica and even genuine watches are the least expensive cost in the manufacturing process. So to answer your question, yes and no.

When you get into the higher grade replicas like we have here there si a smaller market. There is a bigger profit for the sellers but less volume. The materials are better and many have ETA movements which cost about $30 to $40 and up. Some have true 316L steel which is more expensive and the machines and engineering that go into manufacturing the higher quality more accurate replicas are very costly. Combine that with customs losses and dealer markup you easily get to $200 to $300.

There are still many replicas that can be bought in the us for $15 to $50.

That example they have is crap.

not sure about other made and model....as for rolex...especially sub...you can get one for 20~30usd in China. (the cheapest movement, of course)

Guys...to be fair.....you can't really compare what you paid here in USA/EU to the cost in China/Thailand...etc

Yes...you can get one in China for a fraction of the price but don't forget you need to pay $900+ for your Plane ticket to get there :p

In Chinatown Kuala Lumpur, Rolex reps can be found as low RM60 (app. $17.40), but they're crap and nothing compared to those high grade rep found here. I have personally seen and touch these POS, and some cannot even hack. I'm sure that piece in shown in TZ is not ETA. However, like Bangkok, good reps can also be found in Kuala Lumpur, but they definitely cost much more, with much work and patience.
