Highflyingclive
Contact Andrew - the rusty watch guy - and tell him of the problems. You don't want to keep a watch with a rusty movement. That's just asking for trouble.
cwai02
It looks like this is the common problem of the 45mm po.
migiandone
Hi, I contacted Andrew, they tell me to clean the watch and oil it a little no other comment. This is my second wath from Andrew, the first, a Rol GMT ETA, come to me with the GMT hand not working, for that Andrew tell me to keep the watch to a jewelery to repair, after a bad review on rwg he mail me to return it to base then it will ship me a new one, since the Ralex was a birtday gift I ask him a fast deliver so Andrew ask me another 30$ for EMS fast shipment with the promise they ship it monday april 10, so to not waste the shipment I ordered a new watch from him asking for a discount NOT concessed. So the GMT cost me an extra 40$ Now the PO with rust.....wow what a wonderful life, I just waiting for a Panera 111h from Andrew, I hope this one will work fine regards, Mig

migiandone
I rebuilded the watch after cleaning the glass, removed gently some of the rust, but I have no Oil to put on the watch, (I suppose Olive Oil is not the way). Do you think a trusty dealer shuld replace a rusty watch? Regards, Mig
mircle
yes. I'm surprised he wouldn't replace it or offer to. Have you asked for a replacement again?

Bignasty
I can't say that he will or he won't but I know he's not making any money off of these Cheap PO's so its difficult to just eat the cost. Some members are saying the rust is from sweat off of the maker's of the watch. Mine came in OK, but I've seen the threads from other members. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Your father will understand when he does receive his watch.
migiandone
I can't say that he will or he won't but I know he's not making any money off of these Cheap PO's so its difficult to just eat the cost. I do not know how much money he earn from his commerce, this is not my problem, he can or cannot replace it, just to say that when all come fine everyone is trusty, when something goes wrong he must show how trusty is. If with the Cheap PO he not make money well he just should say that we buy something can be broke and there is no way to repair/change in case of failure, what mean to save 50$ to buy something that does not work? I have a lot of respect for Andrew's work and he is always kindly with me. Edited April 14, 2006 by migiandone

r11co
Hmm. That's two watches I received with misty crystal and corroded rotor screw, and two other rwg'rs receiving watches with the same problem. If it is any consolation, my watch now looks and functions wonderfully after being cleaned out and oiled, but considering I've paid less for watches and received better products this is not 100% service. Andrew has been well warned that these watches are variable in quality, to say the least.

I did send Andrew a regular email and sent him PM replies about my possible concerns! Damn, this my first purchase from Andrew. I've always purchased from Joshua in the past. Just hope the Rep God doesn't penalize me!!
miquel
I guess I was lucky. The only problem with my 45mm PO was the oring behind the caseback was only half there. I haven't had any problems!
