I have a gen Corum Casino and I can tell you they do NOT have the roulette function like the rep. That would've been a very cool function if Corum had added that. Anyways. the rep has many many flaws. Wrong clasp, wrong markings on back, no blue paint detail on movement, Dome is not curved enough, the finish on the wheel does not have the same gloss or beauty. Not to knock reps because I own a few next to my gens but this rep doesn't cut the cake. IMO this would be a example of a very bad rep toooo many flaws plus the overall quailty and finish doesn't hold a candle to the OG. Certain reps like some Pams, Rollies etc you really have to scrutinze to see the difference between rep or gen, that's the way it should be. ~D

thomasng
Wow, a Corum costs $2,500, I wonder what you guys think of a guy who buys APs, Breguets and Pateks. You guys must think I'm absolutely nuts. (Which I am, admittedly )

You can see it that way but again, in this case you do get what you pay for. What would be shameful is being called out on an ovious $100 fake. Wouldn't getting a cheap replica that looks sub-par to the gen be defeating the purpose of getting a rep?? All I'm saying is if you're going to get a rep make it a good one, which in this case is far from that. ~D

All I'm saying is if you're going to get a rep make it a good one, which in this case is far from that No, what I'm saying is the Corum Casino Gen is not all that. It is interesting and it is novel, enough so to warrant a Rep being made of it. NO ONE is going to "call me out" on it, except for you, maybe, and the six other people who bought the Gen. The rest of the community of watch enthusiasts will not notice the flaws in the Rep. As for "defeating the purpose of getting a rep," MY purpose is not to fool other people into thinking the watches I am wearing are genuine. My 'purpose' is to amuse myself with watches I can wear and enjoy - end of story. I DARE you to buy one of these "cheap fakes." You might find yourself regretting buying your Gen! PS - No, thomasng, I don't think your nuts at all. But you're talking about purchasing Fillet Mignon when the Casino is hamburger!

PS - No, thomasng, I don't think your nuts at all. But you're talking about purchasing Fillet Mignon when the Casino is hamburger! We'll agree to disagree because IMO the Corum Casino although moderately priced compared to some of my other gens is all that !! I bought it as novelty watch as, I am big time roulette/Vegas person. IMO it's a gorgeous watch and the attention to the small details from the wheel dial to the marking on the movement back are breathtaking. I would never call anybody out on a replica, that's not the person I am. IMO, we're all watch enthusiasts. I have in fact purchased several reps, and they're gorgeous pieces and very hard to distinguish from the Gens. In that regard there's a difference between the quality reps that most members on here including myself pursue and the cheap HK junk. I DARE you to buy one of these "cheap fakes." You might find yourself regretting buying your Gen! NOt to sound snotty but I have never regretted buying any of my gens including the $17k AP Royal Oak I purchased for my wife. It's a satisfying feeling that after years of hard work and sacrifice one can afford to pursue and afford one's hobby. I have respect and admiration when wearing a quality rep as well. Being somebody out there can almost duplicate the beauty and intricacies behind the original. In the end to each their own. ~D
Chronus
I wouldn't pay 2.5k for what I see as a pure novelty watch.......!
Birdman
I wore this watch in Vegas as I travel there often. Everyone was in awe by it. Noone would know the gen from the replica unless they owned one. My rep is breathtaking, maybe not as much as the gen, but awesome none the less.
