hmmm, I decided over a year ago to get the sidekick2. No phone plan, pay as I go. That means they charge me $1 per day. In return I get unlimited internet access (aim, yahoo im, 3 pop3 accounts, web access, ssh2, etc). I can use it as a phone, that costs $0.10 a minute though.

I wasn't able to price anything even close to this.

Just got my BB from tmobile and it's a great little device.

They're known as Crackberry in the IT business. You'll be checking your mail every 30 seconds and won't be able to be away from it for more than a few minutes at a time. Before long, you realise sleep is for the weak that don't get mail and you're looking for the waterproof version so you can start taking showers again.

Intrusive technology, I have one on my desk at work I refuse to get hooked into. :Jumpy:

I use a Smart Phone instead. Awesome to monitor work e-mail from my phone. I can even search for contacts from the corporate address book and call up their free/meeting schedules in order to schedule meetings right from the phone.

I used to have one and it did bother the hell out of me with the constant email updates. Also Nextel was charging me $90+ a month for it and I just didnt feel like paying for it anymore.
