Jumbie
Saw someone post this for sale on Paneristi. Can't afford that much for a strap but think it looks really good so wondering if anyone know of something that looks close to it. Thanks.

Jumbie
Yeah, I was just looking on their site but the closest I can find so far is Aged Honey Brown that only comes in 26/26 and I need 24. I was pretty close to buying their Historic Brown #1 strap but then I saw this one and I think I like it more so doing a little research before I spend the money cause I only have enough budgeted for one strap at the moment. More will have to come later. Thanks for the reply though.
Jumbie
This looks kind of close as well (or maybe I need to get my eyes checked). http://anonym.to/?http://www.strapculture....am551image.html SC has some HORRIBLE photos on their site though. Too much light bouncing off the straps IMO.

Jumbie
Thanks lanikai. That's a pretty nice strap but I think it's a little bit lighter than what I am looking for. Also like the rougher look of the leather on something like this SC strap http://anonym.to/?http://www.strapculture....mp/scam554.html which is what I think I'm going to order. Price on the Toscana is much nicer though...

No problem .... remember though that the TC leather is top grade and will darken with age, there is a Figlio Tan on the same page that is darker on special for 77 usd ... i have found that the good quality leather comes from Mario Paci and GeF ,... also the edges on the MP and GeF are finished better ... but that's just my opinion. .. the Strap Culture leather dosen't look all that good even if the colour is ... but i may be totally wrong ... anyway good hunting
Jumbie
Fair enough. I actually like the rougher look of the SC strap. Don't know how it will affect comfort in terms of the more unfinished edges but my PAM 112H is totally going to be a casual jeans and t-shirt watch. I'll throw it on a black leather strap or oxblood or something for a more dressy look.

Jumbie ... i think you opened my eye's to something i have been missing ... the vintage "rugged " look is what i have been missing in the straps ... i think i would sacrifice comfort (like everyone else i imagine) for the right look ... your choice of semantics is what did it ... the MP and GeF are more refined as far as finish goes ... is the Strap culture in the US or in Europe? asking for shipping purposes.. i think i may give your idea a try.. the more i look at the SC strap the more i think it fits some of my needs. thanks for the convincing words.. Lani Cheers. I believe they may be in Hong Kong. Check out this post on Paneristi cause it looks like they are offering 15% off and $5 shipping. http://anonym.to/?http://www.network54.com...kles+on+sale%21 You may have to copy and paste it into your browser. The StrapWorks Vintage straps http://anonym.to/?http://www.strap-works.com/collection.htm also have a pretty good rugged look (I like the last two) as well and seem to be slightly more "finished" as it were. Might wanna check those out as well. Good luck. Hope it works out for you. Don't blame me if it doesn't. [edit] Think I should mention that I've heard that the SC straps are not 100% hand made. Not sure if that makes a difference to you and I'm also not positive on that information. [/edit] Edited June 17, 2007 by Jumbie

Jumbie
no worries i take responsibility for my own actions even if I'm following a lead ... getting into a strap fetish now heh, I was just kidding about blaming me. I'm sure we're all adult enough to be able to make our own decisions. I really like PAMs for the fact that you can change the look so easily just by switching the strap from a steel bracelet (which I usually prefer on watches but actually dislike on Panerai) to kevlar or rubber or croc, etc. as far as hand made .... for all i care sherpas could make them with their teeth if it looks good...Agree with you 100%. As long as it looks good, I'm happy. Lani can't seem to access strap works .. Try this and see if it works. If not, just type in the address directly and you should have no problems. http://anonym.to/?http://www.strap-works.com/collection.htm Edited June 17, 2007 by Jumbie
