ubiquitous Posted April 29, 2006 Report Posted April 29, 2006 Indeed... I see John has lowered the price back down to a more palpable $99 (instead of his temporary inflated $199). BTW, if you knew what he was asking for his Superdome 39, you'd be in major 'WTF' disbelief!
Jetsons Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 More of the T-Stuff. Good thing I stepped in before Andy raised his prices 50%.
leitztozeiss Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Guys. What is the cyclops magnification of a genuine Tropic 127 versus the crystal that comes with the MBW/watchmaster 1680's?? In trying to fix my 1680, I messed up the crystal that was on the watch. I had a spare crystal that appears to be a 127, but the magnification is not like the one that cam with the watch. Should the cyclops magnification be the same or less than the original MBW/WM crystal?? Thanks guys.
ubiquitous Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Date magnification for a gen 127 is pretty big- More or less 3x. This is because of the tall profile of the crystal, which allows for a greater distance between the cyclops and the actual date/date window.
pitimany Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 Hi is a excellent guy. But, I am not sure all are genuine crystal. #39 is not super domme. #127 is excellent. #21 recommended.

Yeah, John is a good guy - very responsive and friendly. I just ordered a new 39 to replace the one I screwed up. Gosh, this stuff adds up.
the collector Posted April 30, 2006 Report Posted April 30, 2006 I buy parts from John regularly and he is a really nice guy with excellent stuff!! I can really recommend him to everyone here on the board. He delivers in no time. I could not ask for a better person to do business with.
