SMP Bracelet is Snafued

My far from new SMP rep's s/s bracelet will not close properly. Something's wrong with the last "snap"

where the post goes into the "well".

Appears that the "ears" on the side of the clasp are not holding the wire "U" in the

"well" correctly. This wire holds the post in place until the ears are pressed to release IF the bracelet

is functioning properly. But mine won't snap closed.

Can this be repaired, or do I need to get a replacement bracelet?

Any wisdom from your experience with the SMP and its bracelet would be

most appreciated.

Mine is the same.. Only with 2-3 other faults.. And it's all rickety all around the clasp. The diver's extension was messed up too, and the through-pin is loose. It was great for 6 months or so, but hard use did it in. I bought a 20mm NATO Bond strap and threw the bracelet in my box-of-parts.

You can always get a cheap replacement somewhere.

Probably as cheap and easy to get a replacement bracelet than having it repaired.

It is likely to be the wire spring that is at fault - either it has broken or weakened with use over time. You can replace it with the genuine item which is available from Cousins (in UK) or Ofrei. Hope this helps, Cheers.
