Is there a differnce visualy between White Gold and SS?

If you aren't comparing it side by side, it may pass. There is a certain depth in color that is different...almost a pewter tone in the white gold vs. stainless and it wears/scratches differently. Most people can't tell anyway.

Depends on which kind of SS.

Brushed is just brushed, but high polished SS is palladium plated (i.e. the Daytona).

All white gold is also palladium plated, seeing as there's no such thing as "white" gold. It's just an alloy of gold with various other metals that have to be palladium plated, otherwise they wouldn't be as shinny or as "silver" looking. Whether it's wedding bands or watches, once white gold begins to wear, it starts to turn yellow--like the real gold it's based on--and eventually has to be re-plated.
