ajminla Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Ok, I sold off a bunch of gen watches that I never wore to get a used LV ("D" serial number) from Japan. Here are some pictures in case anyone wants a reference point for their replica LV.
cableguy Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Nice, what does a "used" submariner go for anyway? I've been thinking about possibly buying a gen as well.
david-aussie Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 HI NIce watch.... Now thats good pictures,...as always wanted to know how to do the CGS.... now I know. tnx David
ajminla Posted July 13, 2007 Author Report Posted July 13, 2007 This LV had a sale date of May 2006 and is in pristine condition with the exception of a hardly visible nick on the bezel - I only caught it with a lupe. I traded my L series GMT II TT (jubilee) and an Omega PO (black dial / Orange numbers / non-chrono / rubber strap) for the LV as they were not seeing much wrist time. I still like GMTs but I had a GMT SS before the GMT II TT and just needed a change after several years. The PO is a great watch but I wanted the Sub. The going price based upon my research is around $4900. If you are lucky you can pick up a new one for around $5500 - 5900. There is a waiting list from what I understand. Nice, what does a "used" submariner go for anyway? I've been thinking about possibly buying a gen as well.
ajminla Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 Very funny..... but I actually checked it against all the reps to see how it differed to figure out it was a gen so it was an interesting exercise. And also had a watch shop look at the movement. It looks like rep! ...just kiding!!!
