  1. I've owned a couple subs including a SSD. My new favorite is the BK Ceramic Sub. Either way, make sure you buy from a good dealer and remember, you get what you pay for. Best of luck.
  2. Am I missing something? I don't see a picture or a link. I think these watches are tremendously underrated. If they are selling one for $600 it will be like the Hublots were a couple of years ago. They listed for over $800 new from the cartel dealers. Now you can get them for half that.
  3. Nice piece. I hate Rolex because I can't afford them. I'll love them when I own a ceramic sub.
  4. I've got one if you're interested. I also have the B&R rubber strap. Please me a PM to discuss. Thanks.
  5. I'm must be one of the younger guys here. I love the new 116610 and the 996. I'll start with the Ceramic Sub. I like the maxi dial, ceramic bezel (the Sub bezel always looked cheap to me, even on the gen) and clasp. The Ceramic Sub bracelet feels much more substantial and quality. I always found it amazing that a watch that cost thousands had such a cheap looking bezel ring and 'tinny' bracelet. I liken it to closing the door on a german import compared to low priced economy car. I'm seriously thinking about buying one. I've actually gone to an AD to try it on, which I've never done before for any other gen. The watch is very impressive in person. It is hard to believe that by looking at Prsist 928 pictures that the 928 model was designed in the 80's. It still looks fresh and current today. I bought a slightly used 996 C4 about seven years ago. The 996 is a great car, it's the best car I've ever owned. I agree with By-tor, the car is technically better in every way. It doesn't have the soul of a 993 but as a P-car to drive every day a 996 can't be beat.
  6. Progress marches on. This watch is less than half what I have into mine. Mods include, canon pin, lume and AR. This model was around $350 new when I picked one up 5 years ago. You guys should quiet down and be happy to have such a nice watch at an unbelievably low price. The global economic downturn sure is making good quality reps more affordable.
  7. This is now the gen I want to own. Saving up my money. You're a lucky guy Watcher. Congrsts!
  8. Great idea. Great site. It's cool to read the posts from people who have found out about this from all over the world. Goof love the web!
  9. I've decide to give up on my wait for a new SeaDweller from George. So, here's my question. Which of these three watches should I get from BK: the DSSD, noob Ceramic Sub or Blue Ceramic Sub? Can the Rolex experts weigh in on which is the most accurate? I'd also like to hear from BK owners about what it is they like/love about their watch. Thanks in advance for taking the time to read and post.
  10. Member X is right. You'll need to get AR and lume mods. The watch is well worth it. I've done both and can tell you first hand that it's gets compliments every time I wear it.
  11. I've got a 177h that Chris lumed and added a longer cannon pin. I was impressed with his way back in the day. Great to see he's doing well.
  12. Sneed, a big thank you for being our guinea pig and trying it out. I'm sorry it didn't work out the way you liked. It's nice of you to share so that the rest of us don't make the same mistake.
  13. That's great news. Thanks for taking this on. I own a modded 176 and would be interested if you make a crystal to fit that model. I hope the members on the board embrace your work.
  14. You could wait for the WM9 SeaDweller to come out. Just kidding. Omega64, a lot of us have been waiting for the "ultimate seadweller" from WM9 for nearly two years now. Unfortunately it's doesn't appear to be coming any time soon.
  15. I had the same experience. The AD told me to bring the watch in so that they could do it. I insisted I could do it myself and they told me they weren't allow to sell them without installing them. I was [censored].
  16. A couple of observations. I've got an iPad and Macbook Pro 13". I have come to love the iPad. It's the perfect device for sitting around the house and doing light work, surfing the web, using apps like WSJ or watching video. For serious email and work related stuff you gotta have a keyboard. My opinion is that the Air as an iPad on steroids. A 3G iPad and Air are about the same price. The real question is "how are you going to use it"? My Mac doesn't get hot at all. I use it all day and it never gets warmer than room temp. That's really interesting to me.
  17. Simo, make sure you order a couple of extra screws and tubes. It's a must. Find replacements is virtually impossible. Ask anyone who's gone through the experience. Best of luck.
  18. The watch is an Ajoesmith case. The PVD looks very close to the gen. Not shiny, but matte. Kent Parks lume. And Chief double sided AR. Here's a shot from my iPhone. I hope you like....
  19. I was in the Apple store around closing time buying a trackpad and one of the store employees compliments me on my watch. It's got an orange face relumed by Kent Parks. He goes on to tell me that it's the coolest watch he's seen all day. Another employee says he was about to say the same thing. They start joking about who likes it more. Made me feel good about my choice. Interestingly the B&R gets more compliments than my PAM, Porsche, SD or Planet Ocean.
  20. Yeah, that tall grass is real demand on watches. Only the best times pieces in world can stand up the rigors of tall grass. Interesting watch, I'm not sure about the color choice.
  21. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm still trying to figure out what to do. One option is to get a sub ceramic instead. BK has been great, he's patiently answered all my questions. Look on the bright side, at least we didn't have someone scam us out of our money. Having options at this point is time is pretty good if you ask me.
  22. That watch isn't for me. I can't see myself wearing it for business or casual. The watch would look better without the subdial, replace it with a second hand. I still love the square case, it's what makes B&R unique.
  23. Whatever, how's the case design itself? Does it match the gen in your opinion? Also, are the center links hollow of solid?
  24. Toadtorrent, How much for a sub in CDN and US$?
  25. Chief, Now I understand why your AR service is sooooo expensive. It has to do with your taste in single malts!!
