It's a shame it didn't turn out the way you wanted. I know you put a bunch work into this project. Is does look very strange, almost like it's been painted. How does it feel? Is the texture smooth or rough?

Thanks Kruzer. I think I'm just going to put a palp crown on and be done with. I've done the cannon pin upgrade, relume, this is the last cosmetic thing I plan on doing.

I much prefer the Panerai bra, the plastic cover that protects virtually the entire watch. It provides much more support, if you know what I mean.

Everyone has their own reason for buying a rep. At the end of the day as long as there are a variety of choices ( asian vs. swiss) and dealers we all win. We all make our own value judgements. I personally think there are more choices now than ever, and, rep prices have gone both up and down. Who would have thought you could get a Noobmarier for $100 two/three years ago? It would have costs twice as much to buy the same model (Rolex Sub) watch that was only half as accurate as a Noob. Starbucks or Maxwell House which do you prefer? Freedom of choice is a great thing!

Kruzer, just so I understand completely. If I buy the "ebay crown" then I will have to have the tube of my 176H modified to fit the new crown, correct?

I've got a 176h and was thinking of upgrading to a Palp crown. I noticed these on ebay. Has anyone ordered one and installed it? How do they compare to Palps? I did a search and could find anything. I'm interested. I'd like to know more about the following: 1. Dial color choice, I prefer orange 2. Lume? 3. Screws for the strap. I understand that the first versions had hex screws that would strip easily. 4. Movement options? 5. AR? Does the watch you are buying have any AR at all? Thanks for putting this together ajoesmith. I bought a VIPmariner on another site, same thing as the noob. The wok bothered the [censored] out of me. I went out and ponied up for a MBW. Not that is one amazingly good looking watch. It's not perfect but the quality and rehaut depth make a big difference. If you can afford one, get it. You won't be disappointed.

They are awesome watches. I remember when the first came out that they were considered one of the best/most accurate reps at the time. If you really want to make it look cool put in on a black NATO strap. I get more compliments on that watch than anything else I wear. And I work in an office with guys who own three Rolexs, one black and gold sub, one blue and gold sub, and one GMT.

I was told a while back that you can use sandpaper to make a polished buckle into a brushed buckle. What grit sandpaper would I use? Thanks in advance for you reply.

I'm a little confused. Is the pearl mentioned above from watchmaterial different than the one that is in the bezel insert they offer? Why wouldn't you just mod the watchmaterial insert and put it in?

I have a gen Capeland crono. I get as many compliments on that watch as I do my PAM or Omega PO. A good looking watch is a good looking watch regardless of brand. B&M, in my humble opinion, make good looking watches. Yeah, they aren't the flashy watches that Breitling makes but I like it that way. There's something to be said about classy and understated.
