  1. It won't be the same without you Joe. Thanks for my B&R, you did a great job. I really think as a service to the members on the board that you "loan" your avatar out to someone. At least until you come back. I think I will miss her more than you.
  2. Good to see you are okay. Glad there was no permanent injury.
  3. I thought ZENITH gave the watch that name was because they DEFY anyone to like such an XTREMELY ugly watch.
  4. George, Glad it all worked out in the end.
  5. I have the red dial version. The crystal is with Chief getting new AR, and the dial with Kent getting relumed. I'll add picks in a couple of weeks. I ABSOLUTELY love this watch. I get more comments on it than I do my PAM, SSD, and B&R. It's a great watch that is very unique, I highly recommend it.
  6. Victoria, you avatar is fraking hilarious. I was laughing my ass off. Thanks.
  7. The white pieces look like plumbing fixtures. I'd really like to know more about them, size, etc. I just paid a watchsmith good money to take the crystals out so that Chief could AR them. I'd rather do it myself and spend the money on other mods. As Borat would say " Very Nice".
  8. The sound it made when it hit the ground was "thud". I thought for sure it was going to be destroyed. It actually faired tremendously well. I'm with you Ztech, they can all be repaired. But with a rep you almost ending paying the same to repair it as you would just buying a new watch altogether. I guess that's the good AND the bad.
  9. I had just gotten out of my car and was walking across the parking lot when my Planet Ocean on Nato Strap came off my wrist and hit the ground crystal first. Yeah, that's exactly the reaction that I had too. Frak me, for all you BSG fans. It was my fault because I had just adjusted the size and probably did put the pin through the strap hole completely. The sapphire crystal had black marks all over it. I was able to scrap off all the marks with my fingernail and the crystal came out unscathed. The only damage was that a couple of the hour hand markers fell off and the bezel has a couple of scratches. But as I was thinking about my inital reaction, and after the fact, it I could have only imagined how I would have felt if the watch had been a gen. Upset would be a great understatment. Think about it. I know that these watches aren't cheap but think about how you would feel is something like this happened to your $3,000-$5,000 gen watch. The moral of the story: Be thankful that we have these watches and that they are as good a reproduction as they are. Anyone one know how easy it is to glue on the hour markers to a watch? What type of glue should I use? Thanks.
  10. I agree both are reps. It's interesting that the serial numbers are different. And, they are different than my watch. I like that because it's a dead give away on most reps, especially PAMs. The other indicator that they are both reps is the blue protector film on both of the deployant clasps. I own one, the rep that is, and they all come with the blue plastic. I doubt the rep manufacturers went through the trouble of repping the film too.
  11. I just bought a flat 6. It's one of the most comfortable watches I wear. The strap is much better than ever would have thought. The only thing that I don't like is that the deployant clasp makes it virtually impossible to adjust the strap on the fly. For example it got hot the other day and when it did I wanted resized the strap to be a little bit larger size to give my wrist more room. Unfortunately on the Porsche strap that requires a screw driver to adjust. You have to admire the simplicity of the SS Rolex band. All you need to adjust that is a paper clip or pointy object.
  12. I agree with Andreww. There are so many steel bracelets out there. I have a couple and that's why I love the rubber on the flat 6. It's a great contrast to an already beautiful dial.
  13. ptolomeo, I have a spare orange dial and hands. I notice that the numbers are not all orange. On some of the right edges there is some white. Kind of like a shadow affect. Does you dial have that look too? Anyone else want to comment?
  14. I have one of his watches and can tell you first hand how good they are. I lost two screws and the replacement screws are shiny and black like wet paint in comparison to his finish. It's one of my favorite watches.
  15. How long is the strap? I know you have to cut it but does anyone know how long it is. Is there room for adjustment? By that I mean my wrist expands in the summer and my "winter" size is too tight. Does that make any sense?
  16. I'm surprised no one mentioned the dagger on the H models or the misplaced Officine Panerai on the bridge. The fact that there isn't a correct bridge amazes me. It's such a glaring flaw on the crystal case backs.
  17. Good to know about the SSD. I have one myself and was curious about waterproofness. I'm planningon getting the red Porsche watch. I'll let you know when I get it and if I have it pressure tested.
  18. I'm ready to jump on one too. The red one fills out my portfolio. Looking forward to your review Daytona.
  19. I'm traveling down that way for the holidays and would love to meet other members. Let me know if you change the date. If so, I might be able to attend.
  20. I understand your position. I am more than happy to remove the post if you wish. I joined the site two weeks later than you so I hope that credibility is not the issue. It was originally my intent to be a paying member but I'm not sure if I appreciate the "join and we'll share" sentiment. I don't feel that's in keeping with the spirit of the site. We're here to share our passion of watches and to share/discuss what we know.
  21. Admin can you please remove this post? Thank you.
  22. I have a TTK Noobmariner that has stopped working. I want to replace the movement but I don't know what I need. Can someone help source one for me? I also bought a VIPmariner from another board. I thought I would be smart and replace the VIP face and movement but unfortunately it doesn't seem to fit properly. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  23. That looks awesome!! I definitely want one. How does it compare to the gen? It appears to have more of a powered look that the gen. No matter what, it's a great improvement over the standard rep. Let us know when you're ready to do a group buy. Thanks.
  24. Great. Just what we need, more confusion on movements. Thanks for the heads up The Zigmeister.
  25. The Teclube looks quite good. You are definitely on a quest my friend. I applaud you.
