gridlock1983 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 So I've been bitten by the Panerai bug. I really really really tried to resist and then I went and looked in today wristcheck and saw antons flyback. Now, I have no control and am actively seeking a PAM. I'm asking for help as I'm a stickler for accuracy over anything else. What, in you guys' opinion is the most accurate PAM about. Ideally I'm looking for one that will look good on a Dark Tan strap. Thanks
baltic Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Firstly welcome, secondly take a look at the similar post further down the page it might answer some questions, thirdly upgrade and start researching (only a couple of quid for a month), fourthly there is no perfect PAM rep; all need work or live with the compromise, fifthly welcome again. (Hint - as you're UK based search for PT...)
gridlock1983 Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 cheers Baltic, I'll get onto it now!
scoobs1971 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I'm sorry mate. This illness is uncurable. Best advice I can give is to learn to live with it and fight the symptoms by buying new PAM's. You're specialist involved will be PT. And on the serious side The only really accurate PAM are the 40mm PAM50 or 51 (white dial). All other models have some or more flaws, which are moddable to some extend. Most contemporary versions have wrong datefonts and bad cyclops, which is an easy giveaway. Most people here have started their PAM-collection with the classic PAM111 or 112. Welcome to the forum!
sssurfer Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I suppose that the mentioned PT, as we were speaking about UK based collectors, was Precious Time rather than Pure Time.

First, the disease is incurable. Second, the disease bores those around you, especially girl/boyfriends. Third, it'll possibly bankrupt you. Fourth, you'll get a subsidiary disease called strapitis. Fifth, you'll have the time of your life during all of it. Welcome to the PAM Obsessioners Club. Macaroons and Coke inside the welcome basket.

scoobs1971 Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 i was having a look at the davidsen collection as he has some good ones anyone got any from him before? I've never ordered with Davidsen myself, but I hear different stories on the board. Seems that there are people who find his watches the best PAMs available. Most of the watches come already with some mods like superlume, thick crown & CG and recessed cannon pinion fixed. However, other people think his dials are way off.
