bertieng
Does anyone know if a MBW version of AP RO 36mm ever exist? Don't seem to hear about it so far.
Katerchen
mbw is a "collective term" my friend I know that there existed(?) a TW best model of the 14790ST. IMO the case and the material is better than most CN models. It comes with display case back saying something like "edition limitee" on the back. Dunno for sure but i think its hard to get or discontinued. I havent seen this one for long during our trusted dealers... I do still have a new case with screws (silver) that is an easy swap if someone who is into fitting the dial and movement of a CN 36mm RO into it. Bracelet must fit too with the same case dimensions. The case was shipped from Taiwan to me because i asked someone on a spare-case for watch mods. If interested i can post some pics. Wouldnt bother to part with this watch-case because i wont use it anymore and i want to clear some space among my spare parts collection Regards George Does anyone know if a MBW version of AP RO 36mm ever exist? Katerchen
Hi Bertie... Just took some shots of what i have in stock. 1. (New) TW made case of the AP 14790ST make 2. (old) CN 14790ST case and bracelet As you can see the watch cases differ on few positions. Finish of both seems to be good, the TW case seems to have a little bit of a higher quality when hold in hand. The position of the tube is better on the TW case (closer to bezel), also the height is closer to gen. Engravings on the back (i dunno if "edition limitee" and so on bla bla is accurate or appeared ever on gen) is sharper and just "feels" more original than engravings on the CN case (SS back). Maybe more a matter of taste than of accuracy but i like the display case back pretty much (also on the TW jumbos). I tried to fit a bracelet of the CN 36mm RO right into the TW case (as shown on pic) but i suggest you have to slightly grind something of the "inner recess" down that holds the two little inner links of the bracelet to the case because the clearance of the recess on the case-sides differs from both models up to 0.15 mm (yes i know... they call me "The Master of the nested sentences but if you can follow readin and understanding so far, moding will be a walk in the park) So... 1.473 mm to 1.476 mm aint a prob for pushing the links inside the case, but indeed 7.86 mm to 8.01 mm is. I wouldnt recommend to grind or adjust the little outer 2 links of the bracelet because maybe you can grind them easily down to the size by using a file whatever but you cant reach the part of the outer links that is fitted into the bracelet! This will definitely cause something like an edge on your bracelet. An ugly spot to see... I would rather grind something down of the recess of the case that holds the bracelet links. Remenber... its just 0.15mm in difference. So... this TW case was told to have saphire. I doubt that but even if its just mineral glass it looks high grade to me This TW case is "to go" fellows.
