I posted some time ago about a friend of mine who got scammed into buying a 2nd hand Panerai Power reserve from a watch shop. He was told it was gen but it turned out to be a rep.

Anyway, he contacted them about this, and they have apologised saying they did not know it was a rep and that they were selling it on behalf... they have now offered him another watch... a Pam 111H... here are the photos. I am no expert so was hoping if someone here can tell if it is gen or rep?

Thanks in advance!!!

I'd say Gen, based on the nice and thick crown and small "Officine Panerai" print on the bridges.

Are you sure these are pictures from the watch he's selling and no 'borrowed' pics.?

Based on the offwhite font, the lower L SWISS MADE L, the shape of the 2, 3 and 6 I would say his could be a gen. But to be shure I would verify the serial number on the the watch and the documents with Panerai.

That's a genuine PAM 111.

Dial and dial font is correct, crown is correct, crown guard is correct, movement is correct (based on a Swiss 6497-2 which has the larger escape wheel than the standard 6497), movement decoration and bridges are correct.

I agree. The shape of the 2 is different from my rep., but then again, mine looks like the 111G '2' on Panaristi...
