In this case, I wouldn't even waste my time ascertainig whether the watch was a gen! 1st listing..... zero feedback... in this case, WYSI(NWY)G! As an aside, there are some real bargains in gens on "the bay" However you need to be dealing with established suppliers, and just sit and wait till one "gets under the radar" In some ways this defeats the whole "collector" thing, as you end up buying because its an OK watch, at a cheap price, not necessarily what you really want!
