iluvspl Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Hey everyone i was just curious if anyone has tested a Panerai 187 or Breitling Bentley 30's for water resistance in a swimming pool type enviroment. I just want to be able to swim with these in just a few feet of water no more than 9 feet deep. I do not have the tools to pressure test them and was curious if anyone has or has input if these 2 watches will have problems with the water. Thanks for the help everyone.
Highflyingclive Posted August 19, 2007 Report Posted August 19, 2007 Get the watch pressure tested before you get it wet. Even Patek tell their customers to have this done annually. It needs to pass 5 atmospheres to be safe in a pool. This topic is one of the most discussed on this or any other board. You'll find plenty of information in the archives.
sam_tgg Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Can you swin witout watch? That is the first step
ryyannon Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Just don't stay underwater for more than five minutes... Edit for clarity: holding your breath.
movingshadow Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 well my mbw drsd was submerged for the first time in ages yesterday by accident... forgot to take it off while swimming with the miss.... and it held up just fine.... please consider that this watch has o-rings all around and was "designed" for "underwater play"... usually I take it off even in the shower.... just my 2 cents....
Stephane Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Why would you take the risk with your reps ? Buy a black monster, a Tissot or even easier & cheaper, a Swatch. Cheers Stephane
andreww Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 Buy an Ultimate Planet Ocean Lite or and Asian SFSO. Insanely cheap and almost always waterproof!
hambone Posted August 21, 2007 Report Posted August 21, 2007 Have you taken swimming lessons from a certified watchsmith?
