AA1 Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I really didn't expect this... Pics aren't the greatest but I'm sure you'll still spot it right off the bat - I'm not sure if I want to go through the hassle of returning or not yet.
Guest carlsbadrolex Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Yeah, Im a noob. Um, well... no lugs, no strap??? They spelled Panerai wrong??? MADE YA LOOK!
sssurfer Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Ok, I give up. What that so evident flaw would be?
hambone Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 Clearly the lugs are missing on this watch. The lug screws as well which further confounds the matter. Is there a port for diesel fuel? Hope not.
wjlamp Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 I really didn't expect this... Pics aren't the greatest but I'm sure you'll still spot it right off the bat - I'm not sure if I want to go through the hassle of returning or not yet. No sandwich dial. Its paint on black.
hambone Posted September 27, 2007 Report Posted September 27, 2007 There are both models of the 183 with sandwich dial and those with no sandwich dial, known as "sausage dial". No issue here I can see, except for the lack of lugs.
AA1 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 I know my pics are bad.. I left the lugs and screws out so that's not it. @hambone - "Is there a port for diesel fuel? Hope not". That was funny. @carlsbadrolex - "They spelled Panerai wrong??? MADE YA LOOK!" Yea you did Let me see if I can take some comparison pics after dinner that will show things a little better.
sssurfer Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 If you want us to count how many crown teeth are there then yes, we would need some better pics.
AA1 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 If you want us to count how many crown teeth are there then yes, we would need some better pics.  I'm trying to upload a few now...

Victoria Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 Now you see??? Out of the 3, which one do you like? The old, new, or H series (last one) I'd be lying to you if I knew exactly what was wrong, but that's the one I like best. Tell her what prize she gets, Don Pardo.
AA1 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 I'd be lying to you if I knew exactly what was wrong, but that's the one I like best. I should've known you'd like that one. It's my wifes gen and I think you'd have a hard time ripping it off of her wrist. Funny thing with her is that she won't touch a rep. yet.... Tell her what prize she gets, Don Pardo. I was thinking more Monty Hall Thanks for looking
Victoria Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 I should've known you'd like that one. It's my wifes gen and I think you'd have a hard time ripping it off of her wrist. She has GREAT taste, as if you didn't know. Funny thing with her is that she won't touch a rep. yet.... Don't start her on this dastardly path!! Less rep watches for you! I was thinking more Monty Hall Thanks for looking I'll take what's behind door Number 3. Oh My God. It's Charles Nelson Reilly on a camel!
AA1 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 I guess it's time to put this to rest... Look at the back of the case. It's missing the engravings. It's a nice movement but the case kinda negates the whole idea of that.
anton Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 dang. you beat me to the answer. missing on the edges, right? the movement looks good. is that a gen movement?
AA1 Posted September 28, 2007 Author Report Posted September 28, 2007 dang. you beat me to the answer. missing on the edges, right? the movement looks good. is that a gen movement? Yep, you're exactly right. Sorry about that - thought that people were getting bored with it. No - it's not a gen mvm't but a nice one eh? The H series pic has the gen mvm't of course, but I didn't show it. Thanks for takin a look.
anton Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 Movement fooled me. It didn't look like glued on plates. Also, the "R" in "PANERAI" is correct unlike the Swiss 6497 movement you also have a pic of.
corpsman Posted September 30, 2007 Report Posted September 30, 2007 didnt notice the engravings. I did notice that the words " black seal " and "panerai" are on diff locations on both watches.
