This is the one movement I've had apart, cleaned and put back together. And, it is also the movement I've had trouble with as far as winding, for some of these when I hand wind there are a few slips, where it seems to go back as I hand wind. I've had this trouble with gens and reps. Is there one cause to this or many?

I had a similar problem with an asain one, it was the ratchet gear that holds the main winding gear not being at the right height, luckily alli had to do was tighten down the main gear and it brought it back in line,

Good to know, my Railmaster XXL w/6498 began to have this problem. Great watch, but that asian 6498 certainly isn't the most smooth movement in the world to wind.

I had the same problem and it was the same solution as FxrAndy. Mine was in a PAM 112 with a display back and each time I wound it 'dial up' it slipped but when I turned it over to see what was happening it wound OK. I had to hold it above my head and look up at the movement when it was being wound and then I could see that the main gear wheel was loose and the effect of gravity was pulling it out of line with the ratchet. Simple fix, but be careful that you don't wring the head off the screw - it has a thinner shaft than the size of the head would suggest.
