bricky Posted March 18, 2006 Report Posted March 18, 2006 Some pics of my Sea-Dweller from Precious Time. Tell me what you think.... Cheers, Oliver
jsph Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 hi bricky, it looks really nice. i definitely need a sea-dweller, though still not sure exactly which one (ie, which version, and which dealer). can you tell me, what kind of movement is in there? i'm wondering about the date wheel location, for example. also, how thick is this one? i know there are a variety of (modern) seadweller replicas out there, but that some of them have thinner crystals, less bulging case-backs, etc... great watch! jsph
jsph Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 -- also: hollow mid-links? and how's the lume out of the box? nice hev (said the newbie)... jsph
bricky Posted March 19, 2006 Author Report Posted March 19, 2006 The crystal should be a bit higher.... also the case is from a normal Sub. I don't think there's a correct rep out there though... The movement is the new Rolex lookalike ETA (you know... that one with the red wheel). The lume was nice, but nowhere near SuperLumi.
coolfire Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 sweet-looking SD, you've got there, Bricky...
leitztozeiss Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 It seems like a long time ago, I remember seeing a MBW or WM modern SD with proper case thickness and all . . .
jsph Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 thanks for that info, bricky. if you don't mind, which dealer was this from? reason i ask is, i think that, eg, eddie's "best" swiss sea-dweller, he says is the right thickness, correct deep case-back, etc. i wonder, though, if in reality i would like a "faker" sea-dweller, with thinner (submariner) case, considering my wrist size and also its being able to fit under cuffs. i remember an old post from dicktracy about that once. things going ok with that asian movement so far, as well?
Cucumber_Jones Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 JSPH - did you read the post. He said who the dealer was.
jsph Posted March 19, 2006 Report Posted March 19, 2006 sorry, guys -- been jumping between a lot of posts today/yesterday. don't mean to come off like an airhead. thanks.
bruce79 Posted March 20, 2006 Report Posted March 20, 2006 no worries, it's easy to miss stuff like that. luckily there is always someone around to help out.
