Guest porsche356a
Okay, I seem to keep breaking these on my DJ project cos the GEN casetube sits higher than the movement. So as I insert the crown, the stem breaks. I've already broken 3, where can I purchase more of the proper stems. Ive searched on ofrei, but they dont seem to have them. llsteve80
Aha, a fellow stem snapper! I got 8 of them for 7.60 shipped from ebay seller kaisten. Shipped quick too. It was item # 180157674631 I don't see that they have any listed right now, but asking can't hurt. It was cheaper and easier than offrei. Also, what case and movement are you working with? I had a 16014, and I found that the 2836 lined up better than the 2824. I hear, but am not certain that the 2824 fits better into the 16233 case. Guest porsche356a
@tourby Thanks for the info! I'll be PMing you. @offshore I Sure dont. But I'll do some research and edit as soon as I find out. @ llsteve80 Hi llSteve80, thanks for the info, glad to know im not the only one. I have a 16200 case. Its all pretty much done, just that the stems keep breaking on me. I guess I need a taller movement so the holes line up. I have a 2836, so let me check if that works better. the thing that really breaks the stem is when the crown is pushed into place cos the tolerance between the movement and the crown is so close the difference in height causes the snap. Plus cos of the height variance, the crown is really tight when Im adjusting the watch. I'll have to sort it all out.
