1665fan
Hello, I bought a MBW DRSD 1665 with slow beat movement, hollow mid link bracelet, but a non working gas escape and no crease at the back. I also have a gen tube/crown, crystal, and some gen bezel inlays. Now I have the possibility to buy another MBW with working HE, crease at the back but a non slow beat ETA, bracelet without hollow mid links... What would you guys do? Built one out of two, the case with working gas escape valve, crease at the back, slow beat movement and the better bracelet, some gen parts to add and making a great watch out of it. The problem is the higher price, because the second MBW I would have to buy and having some parts lying around after that which would be a hole watch if put together. Or would you give the one with working HE valve and crease a pass? Would be great to hear from you and get some support!! Kind regards Chris
freddy333
Chris -- Unless I am missing something, the answer seems quite obvious -- If your goal is to have the most accurate rep, then you need to buy the 2nd MBW and combine (or have someone combine) the two. If your goal is to get the best rep for the money, decide which watch has the least sins (to you) and keep (or buy) that one.

vlaletom
Is this version with working HE really a MBW ? or some other source .. I was on the impresion there was only solid HE, at least for the MBK sourced, if custom job by the "maria team" now it might be an other story ... can you tell us a bit more about the origin/availability of those case, if not mater of national security of course ... I am considering finding a better case for my 1665, but for now i thought my only option where NDTrading or jewelryandwatch.com both are really overpriced, specially considring they also have flaw (like case back)
1665fan
Hello, thank you guys! I got offered the 1665 case with the working HE valve from a guy who collects some reps. I do not know where he got it, but I think it's also an MBW, because it takes gen parts and I've seen some MBW cases with a working HE. Look at the threat where "Verbal Kint" is modding his 1665. I think thats also a MBW case, and it's a working HE when my eyes are not fooling me! Kind regards Chris

vlaletom
thanks guys for all the info since this post i have been diging the forum and found the very interestings post by freddy333 about how to mod the valve. I'll probably try to find a second-hand non mbw case with HE, that would come from a cheaer asian rep, and try to fit it into my MBW
