just found this info on Cousins UK :

http://' target="_blank">ETA Hong Kong Shuts Down - Movements Cease

07 November 2007As from 31st August 2007 the ETA Hong Kong office has shut down their operation. There is limited information on the status for the movements, but it seems that all Far East Version movements (F03, F04, F05, F06), (901.005. 902.105, 902.005, 980.108, 902.505), (G10.21A, G10.71A, G15.21A) are discontinued from production.

The supply for these movements will be disputed until further notice. We will be keeping you posted as and when any further information becomes available.

Sounds like the beginning of the long-feared ETA retrenchment into the bowels of the Swatch Group. But it is curious that only quartz models are (so far) effected. Like Ziggy, I have had suppliers tell me there should not be a problem getting ETA parts for the foreseeable future, but this news does make one wonder.

On the other hand, could it be that mechanical movements are beginning to do to quartz movements what quartz did to mechanicals back in the 70's (outsell them)?
