Daytona4me Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 markers are straight, logo is aligned correctly, second hand length is good, orange color is correct, I cannot remember where the correct placement of the HE Valve is supposed to be.... If the guy can take photos like this he should not have a problem taking the caseback off and shooting the movement for you if you are a serious buyer. Dont act on my comments, wait for others to chime in, I'm not an expert on these..
By-Tor Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 Stolen pic. Check out this review: http://rolexreferencepage.com/SDPO/sd%20vs%20po.html The seller is a liar and a scammer. Run, don't walk! Here's the pic he "borrowed": http://www.rolexreferencepage.com/articles/bdpo2aod2.jpg
Daytona4me Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 wow BT, did you just recognize the picture or what?? How did you come into that info? I checked the image source for that photo but it was nothing I could work backwards on .. ?
By-Tor Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 This guy, John Hombrook, is one of the most well known watch photographers on the Net. I'm a (rep) watch photographer myself, so I look at good photographers' work very closely. I read this particular review a few months ago, and recalled the picture. This review doesn't have his best stuff, some of the photos there are rather noisy and oversaturated. I also borrowed this guy's idea of making a comparative review of reps. Well... actually it's not his idea, but I thought he did it really well.
yaron Posted December 2, 2007 Report Posted December 2, 2007 I have to admit the pics in Holbrook's review are wonderful, and BT, now I have no doubt that you are a genious, how did you remember this pic after such a long time?
seasday Posted December 2, 2007 Author Report Posted December 2, 2007 For sale locally...what is your take? Thank you to everyone. The price was obviously a clue but I wanted to make sure. I am not opposed to a replica, I am actually looking for this piece in a replica version, but not when advertised and priced as an OEM. Thanks again. RRR
