Helmut
A couple of questions regarding Breitling Straps. Navitimer in particular (22mm). Whats the average retail for an original? (Deployment & Buckle). Leather, Croc or any other dead animal. Where can they be sourced from? Ive seen a few on EBay claiming to be 'original Breitling' going for about £20 ($37). How can you tell the difference between rep and original? Any key signs? Many thanks chaps.

Helmut
Markings on the back of the strap..... Can you elaborate a bit please? I have no clue when it comes to straps so a bit of spoon feeding may be needed.
Richard Tracy
Check our strap link page; http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?autoco...s&CODE=02&cat=8 Many of the dealers have Breitling style straps....
andreww
Be careful with ebay, you will notice the wording is misleading on the straps you are referring to. It says "Genuine leather Breitling strap", not a lie when you say "Genuine leather" breitling strap. These are reps and I cant comment on the quality. I have only seen one genuine deployment strap recently on ebay, a black sharkskin with a $400 reserve. I would look at BOB straps. They are reputable and have assured me that their Breitling straps are constructed to identical standards. For me the best indication of a gen/good rep strap is the thickness of the band at the lugs. Breitling straps look to be about 3mm at this point, and the thickness decreases as you move away from the lugs.
Helmut
Thats great thanks Richard. Didnt even know those links existed! Andreww, thanks for the heads up. Do you know if the dealers mentioned could fit a 'Breitling' clasp or buckle?

Helmut
Genuine? Another bone question. It will fit a 22mm Navi? (Im guessing the 22-20 is the width range?) Thanks. PS If genuine, whats the most you would pay for it? Edited June 10, 2006 by Helmut
Rolexman
Yep it's a genuine! It will fit the Navitimer perfectly. If in good/ new condition (Strap +- Euro 80,- + deployment buckle +- Euro 100 = +- Euro 180,- ) Go for it!
