r11co
The team in question is in fact McLaren Mercedes. McLaren is one of the oldest Formula 1 teams around with 40 years in the game. They are a british team, based in UK, and one of their owners (and engine supplier) is DaimlerChrysler, a german company with some history as well. One of their sposors is the airline company 'Emirates' another one is TAG. So implying that TAG support terrorism is to me a little bit strange. Following the same track one could say that Chrysler, as part of DaimlerChrysler, is supporting terrorism as well . Hmmm.. Frank Williams got there first

Following the same track one could say that Chrysler, as part of DaimlerChrysler, is supporting terrorism as well Not only THAT, but also...... The first turbocharged McLaren ran before the end of 1983 with an engine built by Porsche, but labelled TAG. Techniques Avant Garde, a company founded by Mansour Ojeh, had bought into McLaren International, as the company had become, both to use Formula One as a flagship for its other activities and to cooperate with McLaren on various hi-tech developments. There was some idea of using the TAG engine in helicopters, but that came to nothing. And, as you were saying...... Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktourm, Chairman and Chief Executive, Emirates Airline and the Group, said: "Grand Prix racing attracts millions of followers around the globe, and we believe it will be an excellent vehicle to further Emirates' brand awareness. We are very pleased to partner with such a prestigious team as Team McLaren Mercedes, and wish them every success for the upcoming season." "Today's announcement makes the start to the 2006 Formula One World Championship even more thrilling for Team McLaren Mercedes," said Ron Dennis. "Everybody at Team McLaren Mercedes is looking forward to the opening race this weekend and a successful relationship with Emirates." Team McLaren Mercedes is one of the most successful teams in the history of Formula One motorsport, winning more Grands Prix than any other Constructor since it entered the sport in 1966. Last year, the team was ranked second and its race drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Juan Pablo Montoya were both ranked in the top five.
