Merlin
yesterday I received back my case of my 3717 from k2222's 3rd DoubleARrun after putting it together again it looked like he forgot to put back the crystal into the case... ... but when I tried to touch the dial I realized that k222 did a really great job!! Played around with my gasgasbones strap - and I like the look. I think I've finished now: 3717 with gen. swiss ETA7750, gen. ETA DayDate wheels from cousins, DoubleAR by k2222. Or has someone suggestions for my next mod? Edited December 14, 2007 by Merlin

steppen
looks great, i too can testify to the great work of k2222, one question though, did they ever make the gen 3717 with german daywheels, i thought it was just with 3706?

section8
That is an amazing piece, you've gone exactly where I plan to go when i pick up a 3717 - down to the german datewheel. That strap is also a great touch - really shows the versatility of this piece, put that strap on and you've got your rugged utilitarian pilot's watch. Put a gator strap on and you're ready to swap into a suit and head to the boardroom.

Merlin
thank you, boys. changing the subdial pinions is a little bit tricky and I have no expirience in this. and I've seen pieces with much darker pinions than mine. I did all the mods (except the AR) myself and I'd like to do further mods myself, too. Edited December 14, 2007 by Merlin
section8
is the gen 7750 swap a 1:1? or did that require any shoe horning?
Merlin
simple swap: 21.6 asian out - 28.8 swiss in the new asian 28.8 would need a little bit more work... Edited December 14, 2007 by Merlin

Merlin
is it a staright forward swap of an ETA7750 movement with the asia 7750 valjoux / 28800 beat? It was a low beat asia so it was a simple 1:1 swap
Pugwash
is it a staright forward swap of an ETA7750 movement with the asia 7750 valjoux / 28800 beat? No. The hands need work as the 28k has different hand sizes to the 21k and gen ETA.
