spookycord
Great mods. I'm in the midst of doing mine too. did you do any mods to the crown guard or pin? What is the difference between the dsn hands and the standard reps? Congrats on a fine watch. Cyclops mod in your future?
dluddy
@nelly - do a search and you will find an excellent tutorial By-Tor posted about the various GMT movements and how they operate. The seconds hand should be polished stell and in certain photos it does appear black. @Spookycord - NO real mod to the CG itself. Regarding the DSN hands. The reason I went with his GMT hand had to do with the movement swap. The 2836 takes a different size GMT hand and DSN has the correct hand for the 2893 (1.. I am awaiting the Cyclops from the latest effort led by Chieftang. Thanks for the comments.
nelly
Dluddy, What about this one posted from Blowers ? it really doesn't look like a trick of the light as it does on the BCE.
dluddy
I still think it is the light. Here is a pic of a genuine that clearly shows the seconds hand.
nelly
That's the one from Paneristi I was talking about. They are both pictures of gens, so if it is a trick of the light it's pretty unusual ! Where's the CSI team when you need them
dluddy
If I look at mine at certain angles it shows Black.....
TK471
My 63 has gen hands. All are black except the seconds hand which is silver.
LegendofSpeed
the main difference between the 2836 and 2893, besides the quality of the movement itself, is that when setting the gmt hand on the 2893, it jumps.... i just sent an e-mail to get an appointment with The Zigmeister to have my 2893 powered 063 ziggified... i feel like a lil kid waiting for christmas.... visions of it on my wrist cloud my mind! yellomen
Mine is with Ziggy right now but i expect it back within 2 or 3 weeks and than i'll check the seconds hand on mine. I can hardly wait to see the results... superlume, lello DW, lello datemaginifier, eta2836-2 serviced... it will be sweet
ta8088
Great looking 063. Love that Greg strap. Have been thinking about getting one of those along with a CH II strap as well.
