dazzla
I've got a PAM217 (Asian movement), it's my first rep so if it's dead then so be it. It seems to have happened overnight, maybe it got banged in my bag or something. Basically I can set the time, wind the movement but it's not ticking away; there's not a flicker of movement. Has anyone experienced this problem? Anyone know of anyone in the UK (maybe on the boards) who fancies having a look?
peepshow
Sounds like a cleaning/servicing is in order...
vric
could be dirt or broken piece.. Servicing might be the best option yes.
tanya
Bet you overwound it and broke the mainspring. Could take it to a watchsmith and hope that they will work on it or find another movement from a seller or someone in this or Repgeeks forum or buy a new watch and sell your for parts to recoup the costs Good luck, wearing my new Swiss 217 right now. Can't decide if I like it better than my Swiss 127 or not. Think I like them the same
dazzla
I've got a slevin on the way so I might just leave it. Is there anyone in the UK who'll service it? If it's a The Zigmeister job I dunno if I'll bother, I'll just get the slevin done.
Fish
It might be possible that the movement got blocked by a loose screw or something. The asian 6497 movements are quite good and usually don Edited April 25, 2008 by Fish

MADRED7
I agree with FISH You cannot "overwind " an UNITAS 6497, even if it
