6497-2 Hi Beat

We strive to make reps like the real deal but here's a question I was thinking about. Is there a particular reason we don't modify the Asian 6497's and our ETA 6497's into the high beat -2 models?

Is the only difference a couple of gears and if so, what are they?

I think that there's more to it than that, my friend - check out the various part nos for both movements. Anyhow, as far as I know the 6497-2 parts aren't readily available outside of the OEM network. I picked up a 6497-2 from a Hamilton and these should be fairly easy to get.

The gears are not the only parts that are different. Obviously it is the balance wheel as well as the frequency is defined by that part. So the only parts that are the same are pallet fork and the matching wheel. Changing a movement to a high beat version means rebuilding the whole movement only leaving the bridges.
