ProZac Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 I have a Corum Competition (48mm) with an Asian 7750 movement .Today when I was about to change the date, the crown went loose. Is this something that I can fix myself? Do I need to remove the caseback?
capice Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 Is it the crown or the stem? If the stem you have to remove the caseback and push or turn the stemrelease while re-inserting it, otherwise you will damage the mvt
ProZac Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 Its the stem (the crown + the long pin). Where can I source a cheap caseback opener?
ProZac Posted May 28, 2008 Author Report Posted May 28, 2008 Do you think its possible to swap the asian movem for a swiss 7750 on this model?
Sir-Lancelot Posted May 28, 2008 Report Posted May 28, 2008 A cheap case back opener- 1.) make a ball out of duct tape use the sticky to open it up. 2.) Use rubber gloves. One side has a powder so don't use that side. I have used both and both work. I now only use the rubber gloves, like the kind you would use as a doctor or when using mild chemicals. The tape leaves a sticky residue, the gloves nothing. It is impossible to scratch your case back with the gloves and you will be surprised how strong your thumbs are. You can actually get it too tight, so don't try to over do it when putting it back on or it will be a Bish to get back off.
