Ebay watch: 8 days movement for the collectors out there

I may be even tempted if it stays at this price... but it's an Omega 8 days movement Cal.59-8D.

Perhaps someone can gift it to The Zigmeister as he's off the boards, he's the one most likely to really appreciate it I think. :thumbsupsmileyanim:

Is it a pocket watch movement?

That's my guess, looks like it requires a key to wind up on the back... or perhaps it's a wall clock ? I'm not sure from the ad.. but there are lots of pictures.

At 60.5mm in diameter, there aren't too many wristwatch options for that one. Looks like it comes from a ship's clock.

Interesting, but I have wall clocks that are smaller than that. Of course, I live under a microscope.......well it feels that way sometimes.

That is too funny :thumbsupsmileyanim:

There are affordable watches from Eberhard and Epos which have 8 days power reserve after winding. IWC has such a modell too. And of course there is the new Lange 31 days power reserve... Interesting movements...

Thanks for that, I'll have to look into it... probably after Euro 2008 :Jumpy:
