Chronus
Someone on timezone is selling their Ebel 1911 with El Primero movement for $1150! Much better value than a rep big bang! hxxp://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=tree&goto=3774131&rid=0 (replace hxxp with http)
By-Tor
That's a beauty. I'd buy this if it were in the EU area. The diameter is only 38mm though. Smaller watches don't sell well these days.

Smaller watches don't sell well these days. Yeah seems that way but perhaps fashions will change over time. And I was hoping you'd take a look at this. there must be someone who can bring it from the US to the EU if you really wanted it. And what a price for an El Primero, cheapest I ever saw
Seadweller4000
Careful guys, something's wrong in the state of denmark... There is at least one screw missing in the movement, and the crownguards have been grinded. Ebel has changed their crown-lock system some time ago, the crown became larger. There exists a special Ebel milling cutter which has to be used for this purpose. At this watch, however, it has just been filed off. Chronus
I guess any purchaser better ask questions. I thought this one was from the 80s? I am not sure what the Ebels looked like back then, I was a kid!
Chronus
And maybe that explains the cheap price too... any purchaser should mention it to the seller and try and get some more off if they can, and if they want it.
Seadweller4000
Yes it looks like one from 80's-90's. But Ebel supplies only new crown-systems to watchsmiths. Looks like this has been self-repaired, or at least, serviced improperly by someone without knowledge of Ebel watches.
