jmt
Hi. So, I've got a TI Ingy 2824-2 that has suddenly stopped working at the crown. What happens is that when you pop out the crown, you hear it click into positions 1 and 2. But in either position, when you turn it, you get a poor response, or sometimes no response, from the hands. Sometimes they will turn, but never a complete revolution, and at some point they always 'slip' and the crown will just spin. And the date won't change much at all, and if it does it does the same thing. What do you guys think is going on? I've gotten some advice that I need to source a new crown (by someone respected)-- do you guys who know more than I do concur? If so, can someone explain to me what is actually happening inside? Thanks! J
jdavis
Your problem doesn't sound like the difficulty is with the crown. I suspect that your keyless works are at fault. If you have removed the stem from the movement, you may have done the damage upon reinserting the stem.
Sir-Lancelot
I agree with jdavis.
jmt
I agree with jdavis. OK, so can that be fixed?
Sir-Lancelot
Yup, do a search for keyless works with forum member Bazz. He did a nice post on this and it helped me fix mine right up. A watchmaker could fix it pretty cheap too if you don't dare take it on yourself.
