  1. That is insane! My 16233 Datejust had a chip in the crystal and I stopped in at a local AD to have a new one installed. At only $350 to replace it, I ran as fast as I could. I later purchased a replacement crystal from Jules Borrel for less than $40 and replaced it myself. Rolex parts have become more expensive and difficult for local non AD watchmakers to come by and many are buying used or aftermarket parts to stay in the game.
  2. Glad to learn that the perpetrator or perpetrators have been identified. However, a promise to discontinue these attacks really doesn't mean much from an individual who is proven dishonorable in the first place. Lets all hope that justice is done so that this kind of thing will not occur again. I have always had respect for Joshua and Andrew as dealers who have provided stellar service to our members over the years. They deserve our support. It is good to know that our "detectives" were on top of this one and it was brought to a swift conclusion.
  3. Have a look at the Omega Lady Seamaster. The design is clean and simple yet is classy. Perfect Clones offers a quality version of this model.
  4. If you like Rolex, have a look at the Milgaus or Explorer I. Both are smaller and lighter than your Sub and are good for casual wear. The Omega Aqua Terra Seamaster should meet you needs also. Perfect Clones (Joshua)is a good source for your purchase. He as well as other forum approved dealers can be found in the dealer section of this forum.
  5. All reps are not from the same source. There are various "cottage industry" factories producing the same watches but of differing quality. Some are pure junk made of questionable materials and movements. The watches sold by the RWG approved dealers will generally be the best quality available provided to you with reliable service. Be advised that the rep waters are filled with sharks so. stay safe and stick to the known dealers.
  6. Perfect Clones has a very nice Omega in SS with mother of pearl dial with or without diamonds. It will pass muster anywhere as my daughter can attest after wearing hers for almost two years. Here is a link to the one with diamonds Lady Seamaster I have dealt with Joshua for years and you will not find better service.
  7. I'll bite. It must be Arnold the Govinator
  8. Nanug, your straight hootch is "neat" "neat"=straight up without ice or consumed as it comes from the bottle.
  9. Ken, I'm with you on the Scotch Whisky. I prefer single grain 12-18 yr. old such as Glenfidich. Ismay is a fine Scotch but can be a bit pricey for my regular consumption. For blended Scotch, I find Chivas 12 yr. to be an especially good blend at a reasonable price. Most Johnny Walker is good but I stay away from the Red. I like my Scotch on the rocks or neat. I cringed at the thought of mixing any good Scotch with coke. What a sacrilege!
  10. Thanks for the information. It appears to me that the balance shock has three slots in the above photos. Am I wrong?
  11. Definitely an ETA 2824-2 that is plated and decorated. Likely one of the higher grade 2824 movements and Tag signed. I doubt seriously if this would be a clone movement.
  12. How did you determine that it is a clone ETA movement? Just curious to know the tells.
  13. has not set their status

  14. Your first option should be to contact your selling dealer. Most reps are manufactured by several differnet makers and your selling dealer sould be able to supply the correct dial for your given rep. Gen parts are expensive and often do not fit the rep cases without modification so, use caution before you spend big dollars on a gen dial.
  15. Beautiful and very well executed, BKLM. Regardless of the authenticity of the dial, we can all admire the craftsmanship of it's builder. I would be amazed if anyone could ever call the owner out. I would wear it with pride!
  16. I don't think that the water will damage your watch's finish. However, why don't you simply remove before showering. That way you have no worries about your watch and you will probably have a cleaner wrist in the process.
  17. I know what you mean about the fake gator straps on most of the reps. They are awful and look like stamped plastic. Joshua does sell some Omega straps that are genuine alligator and crocodile. I have his brown croc with white stitching on an Aqua Terra that looks very nice and close to the genuine Omega strap. I suppose that you are right about the rotor not matching up to the genuine and being out of sight. However, don't tell that to the Hubot guys. If you remember the complaints about the sticker rather than the engraving on the rotors you might see where I'm coming from . I guess some of us are just a little too anal about the details.
  18. After checking Joshua's site, I found that it is now available with the white dial (Added this past April). The white dial looks pretty good in the photos, but the rotor on the movement lacks the engine turning or "jeweling" of the genuine as seen through the case back. I do wish that this watch was offered with an alligator strap which makes it look so much better, IMHO. Here is a view of the genuine case back
  19. Beautiful time piece and at a reasonable price. If Joshua offered this with a good white dial, I as well as many others would jump on it in short order. I don't know if that is a possibility, but if enough of us will express interest, perhaps he could get it made.
  20. In that you just received the watch, you should contact your dealer for advice and instructions. I would not attempt the repair unless you are familiar with the procedure and possess proper tools to accomplish it. You might do more harm than good. If you are unable to locate a local rep friendly watch repairman in your area, send it back to the dealer. It may take a while but it is preferable to a damaged watch movement.
  21. Your wrist as well as your fingers will expand and contract due to various conditions you encounter during the day. If you have a comfortable fit in the morning you may find that as the temperature rises your watch may feel tighter. You may also see this happen during or after physical exertion as increase in body temperature and blood flow will cause expansion of body parts. All watch bracelets or straps, genuine or replica, will do this because the change is in you rather than the watch.
  22. The Miyota is a pretty good movement and appears to me to be the pattern for the CN 2813 and 4813. I would suggest that you stick with the 4813 due to possible complications in fitting the Miyota movement to your watch. The dial feet my not line up and the hands may not be the correct sizes to fit the Japanese movement. The CN4813 will also give you the correct 28.8k bph for your sub.
  23. So-o-o-o, I suppose we can assume that you are taken with this particular watch. Congratulations on the purchase and I look forward to your pics.
  24. I agree that the white dial is a classy looking watch and I also prefer it to the black dial. From the reviews that I have read, the white dial has some obvious flaws. The main one being the color of the metal around the luminous hour markers. I would suggest that you read the reviews of this model written by By Tor which are very informative and address your question.
