Have a look at the TTK "WBM" Sea Dweller that he recently posted. I feel certain that he has it in white as well as the red. It should meet your requirements nicely.

You should show these guys that new model "MWB" 300 Sea Dweller. It looks as good as any 1665 I've ever seen and better than most, right out of the box.

Idiot? He was smarter than you think. He is probably well versed in his deceit. He probably knows that law enforcement isn't interested in small "hits" so, he makes many and spreads them to avoid further attention. It's pretty darn sad that honest citizens have little or no protection from law enforcement. I sit in amazement as I see the foundation of this great country crack and crumble.

The ETA 2836 is a good operating movement. The second hand moves with a smooth sweep. I have a gen date-just and there is little difference in the sweep of the second hand.

I have the same watch but in the black version. Andrew also offers this watch as a "perfect" sub @ around $300. Since I don't worry about the pressure test, the $188 should serve me well. My impression is somewhat different from the above. When compared to a gen, my CGs are almost identical. The SELs are fine on my watch. The bracelet has a very well done brushed finish with a soft satin sheen which nearly matches the finish on the gen. The bracelet doesn't have the same feel as the gen and isn't as fluid in movement but the appearance is pretty close. There are several items that are a bit "off" but, that is to be expected. To my eye, this latest version Sub is the best we've seen yet. This watch is very similar to the TTK $100 Sub but with an Eta 2836 movement. Check out the review by By Tor for a good insight into the particulars of this watch.

The Omega is a great looking watch but, I would wait for the new Asian 7750 to prove that it is reliable. If going with the Omega, you could select the SeaMaster or Planet Ocean with the Eta movement. It has a similar look as the chrono that you like plus it uses the reliable Eta movement. IMHO, you should select the Submariner for a first replica. It is the classic sports watch and everyone should have one in their collection. You don't have to spend the money to get the "perfect" model. The $188 Sub with the nickel Eta 2836 will serve you just as well and is the newest version and is very close to the genuine.

Thanks for the information guys. I am glad to know that it isn't a POS movement. I will be putting the Miyota up for future use for a replacement movement or a project watch.

I have a Miyota 21J movement that was removed from an older replica. The movement looks and runs good. I have little knowledge of this Japanese movement. I am considering saving it for some future project watch. Is this a movement worth saving or is it an unreliable throw away?

Informative thread! Replicas have indeed shown many improvements in recent years. I think that this is a good trend and that the dealers and manufacturers are listening to the suggestions from more informed buyers. These forums are major contributors to the movement toward better quality and more accurate replicas. It is interesting to hear the comments made concerning the future of this "industry" as Eta will no longer be the provider of Swiss movements. There are other Swiss manufacturers that will not be restricted that likely will be more than happy to supply the market. Sellita makes movements which are very similar to Eta in performance and quality and I am sure there are others. Therefore, I believe that our Replicas could still be supplied with Swiss movements if the Asian manufactures of Replicas desire to do so. IMHO, the future looks pretty good for replica collectors and buyers.

Apparently, the basic design isn't covered by copyrights or patents. Where reps get into trouble is by applying the famous makers name and logo on a product that was made by others. This does imfringe upon copyrights

I've got to agree with the above. Besides, it is the better looking of the two. I wouldn't worry too much about the case back, not very many people have seen the real one to compare it to.
